Stores Supervisor

Location: Braintree
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm | Friday: 8:30am – 3:00pm

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and hands-on Stores Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day running of their stores and warehouse operation. This is a varied role combining stock control, goods in/out and the assembly and manufacture of specialist products.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, a strong attention to detail and be confident using hand tools to assemble products to a high standard. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a practical role and takes pride in maintaining an efficient and well-organised stores environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operation of the stores department, ensuring work is completed efficiently and accurately.

  • Receive, inspect and book in deliveries from suppliers.

  • Organise and maintain stock locations to ensure a clean, safe and efficient warehouse.

  • Pick, pack and dispatch customer orders accurately and on time.

  • Carry out regular stock checks and annual stock takes.

  • Maintain accurate stock records using the company’s inventory system.

  • Assemble and manufacture products in accordance with company specifications and quality standards.

  • Use a variety of hand tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.

  • Inspect assembled products to ensure they meet quality requirements before dispatch.

  • Liaise with purchasing, production and sales teams regarding stock availability and customer orders.

  • Monitor stock levels and highlight replenishment requirements.

  • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed within the stores and workshop areas.

  • Support continuous improvement of stores processes and workflow.

  • Train and support other members of the stores team where required.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience within a Stores Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor or similar role.

  • Experience assembling or manufacturing products.

  • Confident using a range of hand tools.

  • Strong stock control and inventory management experience.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Good computer skills with experience using stock control or systems

  • Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.

  • Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.

Desirable

  • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.

  • Experience with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing practices.

What We Offer

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm

  • Friday: 8:30am – 3:00pm (early finish)
