The Role
The LV Switch Panel Wireman will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring and testing of low-voltage distribution boards and MCCB panel boards. The role is central to ensuring products are completed accurately, safely and to the required technical standards.

Build and test distribution boards and MCCB panels in line with technical drawings, specifications and BS EN 61439 requirements

Read and interpret electrical CAD drawings, wiring diagrams and layout information

Check component quantities and quality before starting each build

Assemble wiring loom kits using a range of cable crimp hand tools

Carry out electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance and functional checks

Identify and rectify wiring or assembly faults through effective fault-finding

Maintain accurate manufacturing records, including test certification, diagrams, drawings and production sheets

Work safely and support compliance with health and safety requirements

Work independently with limited supervision while collaborating with colleagues and other departments
About You

Previous strong experience in a low-voltage panel building environment

Good understanding of electrical systems, components and panel construction

Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work

Ability to read and work from technical electrical drawings and wiring diagrams

Experience using hand tools, power tools and electrical test equipment

Knowledge of electrical regulations, including 18th Edition

Salary & Working Hours

39 hours per week, full-time

Monday to Thursday: 07:25 to 16:30 (with lunch from 12:15 to 13:00)

Friday: 07:30 to 13:10 (no lunch break)

Location: Braintree, Essex (workshop based role)

Salary: £27,000 p/a
