Role Overview
The Refurb Technician / Team Leader will lead the refurbishment centre, ensuring returned water systems are expertly repaired and restored to peak condition. Combining hands-on technical work with team leadership, this role drives quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement to deliver flawless products that delight customers.
Responsibilities

Lead and motivate a small team of refurbishment technicians, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture

Collaborate with the Operations Manager to set clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide ongoing feedback

Diagnose root causes of returned product faults and carry out refurbishment following quality specifications

Ensure repairs are completed correctly first time to minimise repeat returns and maintain a high first-time fix rate

Suggest and implement process improvements in partnership with the Quality Manager to enhance repair quality

Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and accurately record stock usage and refurbishment data

Conduct regular stock audits and scheduled stock takes to ensure inventory accuracy

Organise timely and accurate stock transfers of refurbished units to the distribution centre

Liaise with Supply Chain Planning to communicate stock needs and support inventory forecasting

Occasionally install and repair water systems at customer homes, ensuring professional service and customer satisfaction
Requirements
Essential:
-
Proven technical experience, ideally in white goods or similar products

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Basic plumbing ability or aptitude (full training provided)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, engaging personality

Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and lead a small team

Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record

Reliable and consistent work ethic
Desirable:

Previous team leader or supervisory experience

Forklift licence (training available if not held)

Experience working with refurbishment or repair processes

Customer-facing skills, particularly in a home environment
Additional Information
The role is based in Redhill, with occasional travel to the London office and customer homes on a quarterly basis. The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and work closely with the Quality Manager and Supply Chain Planning teams. Full product training will be provided to support technical development.
Salary & Working Hours

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, either 7:30am – 4:30pm or 8am – 5pm

Hybrid working with occasional travel to London and customer locations

Salary up to £32,000 per annum, plus monthly on-target bonuses and incentives
